On Friday, our friends came dressed in their Spring time best. All of the children looked adorable, so we decided a class picture was in order. It never ceases to amaze me how hard it is to get all of them looking at one time. Below is the best, but check out Photobucket for the rest!

On Wednesday, we were green for many reasons! First, we were green for the Irish on St. Patrick’s Day. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to pinch anyone in our class as they all came decked out from head to toe! We were even surprised by a little Leprechaun Luck when we discovered that a visitor had left his magic powder. We decided to put ours on top of some applesauce. The results were magically amazing! Then, we were green with envy as we said goodbye to a friend that was headed for Disney World!
The magic powder we discovered.
Drew began to stir in the powder and his snack turned green!
Sammy was hesitant to give his a try!
Check us out on Photobucket for our great green day!
As mentioned in the email that went out today, we are preparing for our Spring Eggstravaganza. We will celebrate the coming season and its respective holiday on Friday, March 26th from 12:30-1:30. Immediately after lunch (12:30), we will join Mrs. Ross’ Kindergarten class, and the First and Second Grade classes for an Easter Egg Hunt. Then, we will head to the classroom for a small craft/snack. Each child needs to bring 12 filled plastic eggs by Wednesday, March 24th for the Egg Hunt. Please leave a comment on this blog if you would like to provide an item for our craft/snack.
Items that are needed include:
- 1 bag pretzel sticks
- 1 can frosting
- 1 bag jelly beans
- 1 package peeps (12 peeps total)
- Sweet treat (cookies, brownies, cupcakes, etc)
- juice
We had a fabulous field trip last Friday as we visited the Dhillon Family Dentistry. After a tour of the office, we broke up into groups with the Dental Hygenists and Assistants. Ms. Sherie and Ms. Ashley played hilarious informational videos for us about proper dental care and check-ups. Then, they let us discover all of the tools that the hygeniests use when they clean our teeth. We loved riding on the chair, playing with Mr. Thirsty, and checking to see how clean our teeth really were.
Eric found an extra set of teeth lying around.
Drew loved the water squirter!
Who knew you could become a dentist in under an hour?
Thank you so much to everyone at Dhillon Family Dentistry for our amazing field trip! (And be sure to check out their website!)

The Kindergartners are playing. They went outside and slid on ice and couldn’t get up ’til Springtime!
On Tuesday, we were able to enjoy a chilly gift from mother nature with a walk through a winter wonderland. We loved trying to catch the snow on our tongue and throwing snowballs!
Johannes is wondering why in the world there is snow in March!
Kate is wondering when we are going inside!
Drequan is wondering what he ever did to Victoria!
Check us out on Photobucket for all the play on our snowy day!
The parents are down for the count after their abysmal performance at the 3rd Annual Quiz Bowl. After months of preparations, the Kindergartners were able to stretch their brain power with their quick recall of our recent geography facts. With a score of 42 to 3, the students took home the prize from this year’s battle of the brains. Congratulations to the Kindergartners! You did an awesome job!
Eric’s mom looked ready, but she still couldn’t beat him!
The kids know who really needed to prove himself, Mr. Clint!
I spy with my little eye a CHEATER!

Last Friday, Sammy’s mom stopped by to teach us all about India. She showed us India on a map, the Indian flower, the Indian bird, the Taj Mahal, and had lots of artifacts to share with us from her trips to India. Some of the most interesting items she had were the bags, dresses, and the reflective pillow. We loved learning some traditional Indian dance moves also. Thank you so much for the visit!

Drew celebrated his birthday over our long weekend! We were so excited to join his birthday festivities on Tuesday
Happy Birthday Drew!
On Friday, we were anxious to celebrate Valentine’s Day with our Third Grade book buddies. During our party, we had four different centers where we were able to make Valentine’s for friends or family and enjoy a sweet treat. We created our iPods full of love songs, sucker treats for the friends that are “stuck together”, and bracelets with outrageous prints! We also loved the cupcakes and juice!
Mmm! Cupcakes!
Bracelets with our buddies!
Drew and Tristan made funky fun bracelets.
Unfortunately, I did not get many pictures of the Valentine’s Day party. If you were able to join us for the party and you have pictures of our activities, please feel free to email them to me so that I can share them with all of our families.
As the Winter Olympics get under way, we took a moment to reflect on the traditional games of Scotland with a Kindergarten version of the Highland Games. The students each threw the hammer, tossed the caber, and put the shot. We quickly learned that these variations of some of our Physical Education techniques could be quite difficult. Only minor injuries were experienced by teachers in the way of rogue tosses.
Johannes threw the hammer!
Sarah tried her hand at shot put.
Eric tossed the caber!
