As you can see, we had a big day on Friday. We were able to cap it off by gathering together as a class and celebrating with a party! We snacked on cupcakes and juice, created a Halloween-themed picture frame to hold our costume-clad photo, and decorated spooky finger puppets. After our long day, it was great to be with our friends and enjoy the festivities!
Mmm! Cupcakes!

After lunch on Friday, we celebrated the season as a school during our Fall Festival. There was lots of fun to be had as we stopped by the holiday-themed bean bag toss, maneuvered through the spooky Scooter Haunted House, drifted cautiously through the Ghost Walk with our blindfolds on, and used our brains on the Scavenger Hunt.
Only a Ninj.I.O could throw with that speed!
Look out for that spider!!!
Hey! Who turned out the lights?!?

On the Friday before Halloween, we went to Mauldin Fire Substation #2 to visit with the firefighters. While we were there, we delivered treat bags and Thank You cards we had created to let them know how thankful we were for the safety they provide us on Halloween night. While we were there, the firefighters treated us to a tour of the fire station and a peek into their ladder truck.

Things are starting to get spooky in our Kindergarten class. Halloween is in the air and so are the bats! We spent the week exploring the only mammal that flies and learned lots of large vocabulary words along the way. Friends spouted out words like echolocation while we discussed the animal’s eating habbits, hibernation and migration as we explored their plans for the winter, and nocturnal when we inquired about their bedtime. Our mad scientist were put to the test when we served them a tasty bat treat. The bats hung from the ceiling of the cave, of course, and no hands were allowed!

I think the bat is winning!
