On Friday, we headed downtown to a hidden gem, the Children’s Garden. There, the children explored mother nature by using their five senses, phonics skills, and their imagination!

Last Friday, Palmetto Prep turned 6! We celebrated with lots of outdoor fun and, a birthday party favorite, pizza!

After a late evening on Thursday, we decided Friday should be a day of fun, rest, and relaxation. What better way to accomplish all three, than to curl up with a good book? We had lots of guests stop by to read to us and even had some of our friends read as well! Thank you Mrs. Check, Mrs. DeStefano, Kate, Johannes, Ms. Witte, Mrs. Moore, Mrs. Bijoor, Eric, Big Mack, and Nana!

On Thursday, our Kindergardeners became showstoppers during our performance “Destination: America!” The rockers had crazy hair and outfits to boot! Many parents looked on warily at the possabilites of attire to come!

Tomorrow, we will be taking a day of rest and relaxation with books as we recover from our musical. We would love to have anyone that is available read in the time slots below. During our Spring Break, Eric celebrated a birthday. We were excited to be able to celebrate the occasion with him on Thursday afternoon!

On Thursday morning, the Primary School honored students with Perfect Attendance from the third quarter. We are happy to announce that Andrew and Sarah recieved their Perfect Attendance certificate.

We kicked off Spring Break with a spectacular Spring Eggstravaganza. Our class actually started really early with a solo Easter egg hunt for Eric. Each student hid an egg for Eric on the playground. Then we all chanted “Go Eric, Go Eric!” while our friend searched high and low for the hidden treats! After lunch, we joined Mrs. Ross, Mrs. Martini, and Mrs. Latham’s classes for a K-2 Egg Hunt! After being told that there were two “prize eggs”, we had our eyes peeled for the shiny eggs. While none of us were lucky enough to find it, we were happy for our friend, Brady, in Mrs. Ross’s class. After our Egg Hunt, we headed to the classroom for a seasonal treat…Bird Nests! Each student used their imagination, pretzels, icing, and peeps to create their very own nest! We really enjoyed eating the nests when we were finished!

During our Human Body unit, we had a special guest come to speak with us about how we can keep our bodies healthy. Dr. Kucaba, a Kindergarten parent and pediatrician, spoke with us about how nutrition, exercise, and doctors visits he to keep our bodies healthy. We all really enjoyed exploring the tools that doctors use to check on us and discovering the healthy foods that give us lots of energy!
Dr. Kucaba brought in different foods for us to determine which were good for our daily diet.

After learning about the Wright Brothers on Friday, the Kindergarteners decided to take to the air and build our own airplanes. Initially, we thought large (like 747). We then came to the conclusion that it might be best for us to start small…we have to have something to grow into! We each built our own paper airplanes then took to the playground for our very own runway, without the sand dunes, of course.
