Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day
Last Tuesday, we celebrated the traditional Japanese holidays, Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day. The girls celebrated with a tea party including their favorite baby dolls. At our tea party, we served green tea and rice cakes, which were a big hit with everyone! The boys made koi fish kites. On Boys’ Day in Japan, the boys put out a koi fish kite for each of the males in the family. Unfortunately, our boys only had time to make a kite for themselves.

Here is a toast to tea and koi kites!
