“They’re like rats with pterodactyl wings. What’s not to like?” ~ Franny K. Stein

Things are starting to get spooky in our Kindergarten class.  Halloween is in the air and so are the bats!  We spent the week exploring the only mammal that flies and learned lots of large vocabulary words along the way.  Friends spouted out words like echolocation while we discussed the animal’s eating habbits, hibernation and migration as we explored their plans for the winter, and nocturnal when we inquired about their bedtime.  Our mad scientist were put to the test when we served them a tasty bat treat.  The bats hung from the ceiling of the cave, of course, and no hands were allowed!
